We are always here to answer your questions too.
First thing first, let's get you approved and ready to pick your puppy! Clients on our waitlist get their puppy picks before we advertise available puppies. We do require a $250 non-refundable waitlist deposit, and then the $250 to reserve your puppy. If you are not on our wait list, but are reserving a puppy, you will make the full $500 deposit at the time of reserving your puppy.
As our deposits are non-refundable, you are able transfer that deposit for up to 3 future litters. Please know this policy is simply to ensure that we have serious families. It very disappointing to turn a family away because a puppy is reserved, and then have someone back out. We understand that some people are uncomfortable making a deposit due the scammers out there, but we are happy to provide client and vet references.

Once puppies are born, we will make our announcements. The first 2 weeks are very intense and this is a very sensitive time in the puppies lives. They are so fragile, and there is a very real potential for them to be smothered or to aspirate milk. We do everything in our power to make sure everyone thrives, but sometimes you can't fight nature.
With this information in mind, puppies will not be listed until after they are past that 2 week mark.
A&D Frenchies reserves the first pick of the litter. Sometimes we may want to hold several pups under observation for our program until we can evaluate them for longer. We then reach out to our clients on our wait list. They will get to pick their puppy (or pass until the next litter) in the order they placed their deposit. Once our clients have picked their puppy, we will list the remaining puppies on our website here and on our Good Dog breeder page here: https://my.gooddog.com/ad-frenchies-michigan
I will update our Facebook page and Good Dog with updates on the puppies, their personalities, and health updates.
Please note that a puppy contract will be signed and this will include our Health Guarantee.
After the first 2 weeks, things move pretty quickly! We take weekly update photos of each puppy in addition to general life photos.
Here are the details of how the next 6-8 weeks progress:
Week 3: Puppies are weighed 2 times a day to ensure that they are gaining and growing appropriately. Puppies are starting to get their legs and figuring out how to walk and play. Puppies receive their first round of dewormer this week. We weigh each puppy and give them a measured dose of pyrantel pamoate. The specific date and dose will be documented in the puppy health records we send home with them.
Week 4: We start transitioning to solid food this week! We start with Royal Canine appetite stimulation puppy loaf and mix it with some puppy formula. Teeth are just starting to come in (or will soon) so we start them on soft food that starts as mostly liquid, and thickens up to an oatmeal consistency.
Week 5: Food is starting to get thicker this week. Kibble is ground up and mixed in with puppy formula and puppy loaf. We start potty training at this time too. We use a turf potty pad to simulate grass on their feet for easy transitioning to outside! They also receive their second round of dewormer. Needless to say, we hope they are getting the hang of potty training, because this can be a messy time. We like to mix a little pumpkin puree into their food, which can help settle an unset tummy and support the digestive system.
Week 6: Puppies go to our veterinarian to receive their first full exams and vaccines. Puppies are also microchipped this week! We use AKC Reunite chips and prepay the service for our families. After the pups have received their first vaccines, we welcome in-home visits to prospective families. We take careful consideration of who we let come into our home, so be prepared for questions and instructions before coming.
Week 7: Puppies are trying new things this week! Weather permitting, we take them outside. We are really making sure the pups are well socialized, so they will play with their Grandma Marshmallow and Aunt Sophie. They will meet the cats, Pete and Biggy. They will walk on carpet, wood decking, ceramic tile, vinyl plank flooring, grass, and cement. They will also be exposed to loud noises, kids, the TV, the vacuum... everything we can think of to help prepare them for life. If the puppy will be flying to their forever home, we start exposing them to a carrier this week too. Pups will receive their 3rd and last dose of dewormer this week too.
Week 8: Puppy "Go-Home" day! Puppies are free to go to their forever homes after 8 weeks. They will come with a generous puppy package, their vet records (including their microchip information), and a lifetime of our support!
Another benefit to our puppy families... SWAG!
We want to make sure our puppies are spoiled long after we leave so we pick the BEST families for them... but we can't resist spoiling them one last time. Our puppies go home with bags that include some of our favorite Frenchie essentials.
Each bag includes the following:
